Dr. Eknath Pawar

Dr. Eknath Pawar serves as the Dean of B.J. Government Medical College (BJGMC) and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. An alumnus of BJGMC, Dr. Pawar brings extensive experience in medical education and hospital administration.
Since his appointment, he has focused on enhancing patient care, improving infrastructure, and addressing challenges within the institution.

Dr. Girish Bartakke
VICE DEAN
Dr. Girishchandra Bartakke serves as the Vice Dean of B.J. Government Medical College (BJGMC) and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. He is also the Professor and Head of the Department of Orthopaedics at BJGMC.
An alumnus of BJGMC, Dr. Bartakke completed his MBBS in 1991 and MS in Orthopaedics in 1994. With over 25 years of experience, he has treated more than 150,000 patients in Pune and is renowned for his expertise in knee, hip, and shoulder replacement surgeries, as well as arthroscopy and trauma surgeries.
Dr. Bartakke has contributed to research, including studies on osteoarthritis treatments.

Dr. Aarti Avinash Kinikar serves as the Vice Dean of B.J. Government Medical College (BJGMC) and Sassoon General Hospital in Pune. With over 31 years of experience in pediatrics, she specializes in pediatric infectious diseases, hematology, and neonatology.
Dr. Kinikar is the Professor and Head of the Department of Pediatrics at BJGMC, where she has been instrumental in advancing pediatric healthcare services.
Throughout her career, Dr. Kinikar has been actively involved in clinical research, serving as the principal investigator for numerous national and international pediatric studies. She has authored over 90 research publications in esteemed national and international journals.

Mr. Yallapa Jadhav
Medical Superintendent
Mr. Yallapa Jadhav serves as the Medical Superintendent of Sassoon General Hospital (SGH) and B.J. Government Medical College (BJGMC) in Pune. Prior to this role, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Community Medicine at BJGMC.
In April 2024, Mr. Jadhav was appointed as Medical Superintendent following administrative changes at SGH.
His leadership is integral to the hospital's operations, overseeing various medical specialty departments and managing daily patient care services.
