It operates as a Level-1 Emergency Centre with a focus on academics and research, providing access to advanced equipment and technology for effective emergency management.

Services Provided

  • Our Emergency Medicine Department (EMD) is a critical part of the health care system, responsible for providing immediate care to patients experiencing urgent and life-threatening conditions.
  • Our department is manned by trained ER physicians and operates 24/7, aiming to stabilize patients in emergencies, prevent further harm, and initiate treatments that could save lives.

Key Functions

  • All our ER physicians are trained in ACLS (Advanced cardiac life support), ATLS (Advanced trauma life support), PALS (Pediatric advanced life support), NALS (Neonatal advanced life support), CCRISP (Care of critically ill surgical patients), ALSO (Advanced life support in Obstetrics)
  • Triage and Assessment: Patients are quickly assessed based on the severity of their condition using a triage system. The most critical cases are prioritized to ensure timely intervention.
  • Acute Care: Our emergency physicians and medical staffs are trained to handle a wide range of urgent conditions, including trauma, heart attacks, arrythmias, strokes, severe infections, respiratory failure, and more. They are equipped to make fast decisions to stabilize patients.
  • Diagnostic services: Our department is typically equipped with diagnostic tools such as ECG, X-rays, CT scans, point of care labs like ABGA, cardiac marker etc., and ultrasound (POCUS) equipment to rapidly diagnose conditions.
  • Patient Stabilization and Referral: After stabilizing a patient, emergency medicine teams carry out appropriate disposition of patient.
  • Disaster Response: Our emergency department play a pivotal role during natural disasters, mass casualty events, multiple casualty incidence, or pandemics, where they manage a high influx of patients in critical need.
