Mental health is a priority at BJ Government Medical College (BJGMC), Pune and the Department of Psychiatry offers comprehensive treatment services for a variety of psychiatric disorders like Schizophrenia, Bipolar disorder, depression, addiction, personality disorders and other mental health related issues using a multidisciplinary approach which includes medications, therapy and rehabilitation services implemented by a team of psychiatrists, clinical psychologists and psychiatric social workers.

The department is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health care, psychiatric education, and research in the domain of mental health. The department specializes in the diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of individuals with mental health disorders, offering a patient-centered approach to psychological well-being. It also works towards providing counselling services for people having psychological issues due to stress and other things and offer preventive services for a society with healthy mind with healthy body.
